Lous Lovely Lashes Review

I was sent samples from "Lous Lovely Lashes" to give a try! These are all completely honest opinions and this post is not sponsored in anyway.

I want to start by saying how lovely Lou has been through this process, she's really friendly, happy to answer any questions and you can tell she really loves the products she's selling! She sent me three products to try: 2 mineral eye pigments in the shades corrupted and curious and an uplift eye serum.

Mineral Eye Pigments
I tested these pigments in a variety of ways to see what worked best.

Test 1 - Just the eye pigment using a dry brush
Lasted 3/4 of the day without creasing, applied really smoothly and was very buildable.
Colour corrupted using a dry brush with no primer.
The pigment is darker than the pictures shows,

Test 2 - Just the eye pigment using a wet brush
Lasted about half the day before it creased, again it applied smoothly and was a lot more pigmented than using a dry brush.
Again, it's annoying that my camera didn't pick up how beautiful this shade is, curious.
Applied using a wet brush
Test 3 - Primer and the eye pigment using a dry brush
Very similar results to using without a primer, applied really well and lasted about 3/4 of the day. It should be noted, however, that I used a face primer, not specifically an eye primer, so the results may have been better with an eye primer.
Using primer and a dry brush I created this flick using corrupted, I love this look.

Test 4 - Primer and the eye pigment using a wet brush
I didn't get the best results using both primer and a wet brush, I found it went a bit cakey - However, it is completely possible this was my fault for using a brush that was too wet or me not applying the primer very well, again a face primer not an eye primer.

I am looking forward to experimenting more with these eye pigments, especially the flicks because I really really love this look!

Overall opinion
I really enjoyed using both of these pigments, they're so pigmented, easy to apply and buildable for a different look.
The colour corrupted would make a fantastic smokey eye look and the colour curious is really versatile, looks great on the waterline, could be used as a highlighter or to make darker pigments such as corrupted a bit lighter.
I would definitely recommend taking a look at Lous website as there is a huge variety of coloured eye pigments to choose from, including some beautiful bright colours!

Uplift Eye serum

Described on Lous website as "formulated to replenish, moisturize and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles." Being 21 luckily I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles so I can't give my opinion whether or not it does reduce them.

I found the serum every easy to use, a little bit really goes a long way and it doesn't take too long to absorb into the skin. Although it is not meant as a primer, I found it worked well as a primer for eye makeup!

I still have some of this eye serum left, so I'm going to give it to my mum to try out. So stay tuned for an updated reviewed soon! In the mean time check out Lou's website to find all of the products I've tried and more!

Beauty Products I've Been Loving This Month - April Favourites 2015

Hey Guys!

Here are my top three products of April!

Unfortunately, I've been ill through out most of April which didn't give me much chance to try out new products.

Firstly, a makeup brush. This is my new love, I adore it and use it whenever I use foundation! It was a bargain from Amazon for less than £2 including postage. It makes foundation so easy to apply and blend in without being streaky. I'm pretty sure this is a dupe for real techniques.

The next two are products that I've had for a while, but this month I've found myself reaching for them over and over again.

Pink Champagne eye shadow from the Makeup Gallery. I know I consistently rave about this, but it's so easy to use and so versatile working as a lovely subtle eye shadow, base for darker eye shadows and a highlighter. This is also in my makeup bag and a go to product. For only a £1 I'll definitely be buying another one when this one runs out!

Next, a Pigmented Lip Balm by NYC in the shade 359, Apple Plum Pie. Again a consistent go to for me, particularly on lazy days where I don't want to be worrying about lipstick. It leaves my lips feeling moisturized, everyone comments how lovely the colour is, a shimmery dark redy nude and although it doesn't last all day, when it does wear off it doesn't leave a lipstick outline on my lips. Again, this is a product I always have in my makeup bag as its so easy to apply and looks great for any occasion.

A final favourite, although I don't have a picture is Vaseline, just the plain original Vaseline. Due to illness and a constant runny nose and chapped lips, this has been my saviour. I applied it generously to my nose and lips and it really helped to prevent chapping of the lips and dryness of the nose!

Let me know what products you've been loving this month or if you have used any of these products and what you think of them :)
